I started the "Flying Lessons" e-course from Kelly Rae Roberts yesterday, I will just say amazing and yet I have not described even a fraction of the energy in this group. I could not put the laptop down to even go to bed until I was sitting here with my head bobbing. A huge "thank you" to everyone involved that shared so openly, what a gift we have all received.
One goal I have made a commitment to is this blog. It will be my personal space while I figure out the new creative business side of my goals. I can't promise a picture everyday but often. I have my camera with me always just for recording those things that happen by that touch my day in some special way.
This weekend we are at our cabin surrounded by beautiful trees and sparkling water. Have you ever payed attention to how many colors of green there are in the world? My kids, who are grown and have their kids now, might be shaking their heads says "oh no, here she goes again with that green thing!" I used to always tell them to see all the colors of green, especially in the spring. From bright yellow green to deep pine green the spectrum is endless it seems. That is how I feel about the other folks in this e-course group. We are of all ages, different backgrounds but with a common thread among us of trying to advance on our individual creative paths that range from one end of the spectrum to the other. Quite a blessing to be part of the inaugural class. Some healthy friendships will grow for sure!
My photo I want to share today is of a feather my dear husband found in the yard. He always shows me them when he sees them because he knows they have a deep meaning for me. It is actually a special connect between me and my daughter that started during her first year away at college. I will get all choked up if I talk about it now but just know that feathers are a very warm fuzzy kind of thing for us!
Katie, this feather is for you! There was an eagle that landed in our trees a few days ago, maybe it was was left by him just so I could share it, who knows?
I am feeling pretty good about starting to figure out the blog gig and for starting one of my goals.
Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday, be safe, remember and be thankful,
Jodi

Hi Jodi,
I'm also experiencing Kelly's amazing journey with you. How fantastic to start your blog at the beginning of this course. Totally fearless.
I really enjoyed reading your words.
I am hoping to begin my blog soon... and I can't even imagine how many butterflies I will have when I link it to FB.
You go, girl!

Hi Jodi!
I'm so glad you wrote this post! It really is the perfect first post.
I can relate about "the green thing". i spent this weekend at the countryside and I loved seeing the bunches of bright red poppies in the midst of the green fields. I would point them out every time I saw them. First time my husband said "yes, its beautiful," but by the third or fourth time, he was just saying "aha" and barely nodding his head! heheh
I've loved reading your first post and will DEFINITELY be back for more :-)

Love the feather your hubby gave you and the sentiment it has for your and your daughter!
Blessings,
Debbie

I am here via Flying Lessons.
Congrats on taking that first step!
Thank you for the reminder about the different shades of green. I love green, but sometimes forget to notice all the different colors of it; they blend together.

Elizabeth, Thanks for your kind words. I have always been amazed by the "green" thing, even as a kid. Each year in the spring it is like a brand new thought again.
Have a GREAT day,
Jodi

I'm here via Flying Lessons, too. Did you know that many believe when you find a white feather, it means an angel has crossed your path!? It's a pretty rare sighting. I'm guessing you have an army of angels at your back, supporting your new endeavor! :)

Hi Jodi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad you did since then I decided to return the favor and happened upon your very first posts. :) It's fun to see the beginning of things. We're all feel trepidations at the start but once you do- you'll love it! It's a great way to fly!
PS I definitely see coffee in our future. :) My son is out of school right now but I am going to be soooo lonely this fall. How fun that we're local!

HI! I'm in the flying ecourse w/you and wanted to stop by and say hello - hello! I wanted to let you know you are spot on with your comment. "It is an accomplishment to realize one's worth." It's priceless!
I'm glad i came by cuz, you had me at the feather. Feathers hold special meaning me for me...my mom and I find them in the most bizarre places like they've been put right at our feet. We've started placing them in a special jar & each holds a unique story of triumph. I see them as symbols from my guardian angles that say, "you're on the right track" or "everything will be okay" or "or listen from within." In the native american culture the eagles feather is a sacred sign that YES great spirit is talking w/you, listen and be open for what it is you seek. this symbol is precious. So precious to me that I started making pieces w/them to share w/others. take a look. http://bit.ly/9NMN5S
Thank you for sharing this. it touch me

Hi Jodi! Nice to 'meet' you. Yes, it is very wonderful to meet lots of kindred spirits ready to spread their wings and fly. And like you, I feel overwhelmed with all the comments - lol! Didn't expect that as well - but such wonderful things are shared there, you can't help but go through them even with limited time in our hands.
Good luck with blogging. I'm sure you'll love it. Mine has been very therapeutic for me.
